AVANTI works with ministries and other partners at national level in various countries to facilitate a self-assessment and planning process called “AG-Scan” (agricultural scan). The purpose of the AG-Scan is to create an opportunity for participants to assess the institutional capacity to track national agricultural and rural development and measure against the SDGs.
A key moment in the “AG-Scan” is the self-assessment workshop of 2 or 3 days where participants exchange experiences and analyze procedures, methods and tools to self-assess their capacities to manage for results in the rural sector and define actions for improvement.
The outputs and knowledge from the workshops are captured in follow-up Action Plans that include suggested thematic priorities for engagement and concrete activities that can be used by governments, donors such as IFAD and/or to plan coordinated actions within the ministry, with other national institutions or international development partners.
